Description

Crispy baked ground beef tacos with melted cheese, warm tortillas, and bright lime accents. A hassle-free alternative to fried tacos that delivers gooey, flavorful results.

Ingredients

Lean Ground Beef (1.5 lbs)
Whole Wheat Tortillas (12 large)
Cheddar Cheese (1 cup)
Lime Wedges (4)
Ground Cumin (1 tsp)
Chili Powder (1 tsp)
Smoked Paprika (1/2 tsp)
Salt (1/2 tsp)
Diced Red Onion (1 cup)

Instructions

Preheat convection oven to 250°F
Stack tortillas 2-3 at a time and bake for 10 minutes until warm
In a skillet, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned (5-7 minutes)
Add cumin, chili powder, paprika, and salt; drain fat
Assemble tacos on parchment-lined baking sheet: place cooled beef between warm tortillas
Sprinkle 1/4 cup cheese over each taco
Top with 1/4 cup red onion
Broil 6 inches from heat for 3-4 minutes until cheese browns

Notes

Use parchment paper to handle hot tacos
For plant-based version: substitute crumbled tofu
Broil in batches for even browning
Add Worcestershire sauce for more depth
Uniform cheese layer prevents sogginess
