Description
A creamy American dessert blending the nostalgic flavors of banana pudding with rich cheesecake layers. This recipe delivers a moist, tender texture using ripe bananas, graham cracker crust, and a custard-like filling for a fresh, flavorful twist on classic desserts.
Ingredients
Vanilla Wafers, 2 cups (crushed)
Unsalted Butter, 1/2 cup (melted)
Bananas, 3 medium (ripe, mashed)
Granulated Sugar, 3/4 cup
Cream Cheese, 2 1/2 cups (softened)
Eggs, 4 large
Milk, 1/2 cup
Vanilla Extract, 1 tablespoon
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
Mix crushed vanilla wafers with melted butter to form a dough-like crust
Press the crust into a 9-inch springform pan and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden
In a bowl, mash bananas and add sugar until well combined
Whisk in milk and room-temperature eggs, then stir in vanilla extract
Fold in softened cream cheese until smooth and uniform
Pour the mixture over the cooled crust
Bake for 1 hour, then reduce oven temperature to 300°F and bake 15 more minutes
Cool completely before chilling in the refrigerator for 4 hours minimum
Notes
For a nuttier crust, substitute graham crackers for vanilla wafers. Use mashed plantains instead of bananas for a deeper flavor. Ensure eggs are room temperature for better blending. Non-dairy milk or coconut milk can be used if desired.
